BLA 2010 - The Research Agenda

As budgets are squeezed, institutions need to maximise research income. How can Business Librarians discover and meet the needs of researchers? Would we be better placed to help researchers if we have some involvement in research ourselves? Perhaps we could learn from research led teaching and become research led practitioners.

The varied programme of BLA 2010 will include Moira Bent, co-author of Providing Effective Library Services for Research, Stéphane Goldstein from the Research Information Network, and Dr Hazel Hall, Information Professional of the Year and executive secretary of the newly formed Library and Information Science Research Coalition.

The conference will take place from 7-9 July 2010 at the new Liverpool Hilton. It is being hosted jointly by the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.

For the 2010 conference a BLA hardship fund has been established in order to enable BLA members who are faced with financial constraints at their institution to apply to attend our annual conference.
